The VIRA BS4-T Temperature-Compensated TDS Blowdown System is designed for steam boilers operating under variable temperature and pressure conditions. It monitors boiler-water conductivity and applies temperature compensation to support accurate, controlled surface blowdown.
Temperature-Compensated Conductivity Control
Changes in boiler-water temperature can affect conductivity readings. The BS4-T system compensates for temperature variation, helping operators maintain a more consistent TDS-control process without relying on a fixed operating temperature and pressure for calibration.
System Components
The system includes a BK 5000-T controller, a temperature-compensated BD 5400-T or BD 5600-T conductivity probe, a DG 5400 probe body and a BKV 5400 blowdown control valve. When conductivity exceeds the configured set point, the controller operates the valve to carry out controlled surface blowdown.

BS4-T is suitable for steam boiler applications where operating temperature and pressure vary during normal operation. Temperature compensation supports more reliable conductivity measurement and helps maintain the intended boiler-water quality.
